“Samantha Eaton started seeing my son, Callan, when he was 4 months old. At the time, we had lots of questions - his development was not on track, his pediatrician diagnosed him with abnormal muscle tone (hypertonia), he had multiple asymmetries, and neurological symptoms started to present and became more apparent over time. He stopped eating - he couldn't coordinate and would often choke while feeding. He also wouldn't sleep - and we started wondering if these neurological symptoms were connected to his high muscle tone and issues with his reflexes/overall movement. We wondered if he had a neuromuscular disorder. As a mom, there's no worse nightmare than knowing something is off with your child - and not knowing what it is. A few providers raised the question about Cerebral Palsy - but it was hard to say when he was so young and didn't have an MRI. Even though we didn't have a diagnosis, I knew we needed to start him in therapy ASAP.
Samantha met me at a time in my life when I felt hopeless. In Bastrop, it is hard to access care. Oftentimes, we needed to drive into Austin - which is incredible inconvenient and sometimes impossible with 2 young children and a full-time job. When I came across Hatched PT, it was an answered prayer. Samantha started seeing my son 1-2 times per week at home - where he could feel more comfortable and get the most out of each session. Long story short - today he is 16 months and thriving. He has met all his milestones - crawling at 9 months, walking at 13 months - and now he's nearly sprinting around the house. When he was 4 months old, we didn't know if he would meet those milestones. It was the hardest, lowest moment of my life - and Samantha got us through it - working with my son diligently, consulting with her colleagues, and doing her best to provide answers and reassurance. She did just that and more for my family - and we are forever grateful! I know in my heart that he is so healthy today because of the thoughtful care he received so early on in his life. Needless to say, I would HIGHLY recommend Samantha to anyone in need of therapy for their child.”
